At 1 Source Non-Medical Senior Care, we believe seniors deserve to live with dignity, comfort, and independence in the place they feel safest — their own home.
Our services focus on providing non-medical support and companionship that helps seniors maintain their quality of life while giving families peace of mind.
We assist with daily living activities, companionship, light household support, and other services that allow seniors to remain safe and comfortable in familiar surroundings.
But the heart behind our work goes far beyond services — it comes from personal experiences that revealed just how important compassionate caregiving truly is.
Why I Founded 1 Source
The inspiration behind 1 Source Senior Care began during one of the most challenging seasons of my life.
My husband was involved in a horrific automobile accident that nearly claimed his life. In an instant, everything changed. He suffered severe injuries including a broken chest bone, heart trauma, a blood clot in his lung, and internal bleeding that required three blood transfusions. He struggled to swallow, could barely speak, and faced a long and difficult recovery.
During this time, I had just undergone major back surgery myself and was still recovering. Yet I suddenly found myself becoming his primary caregiver.
For nearly two years, I cared for him day and night while learning how critical it was to recognize warning signs, advocate for proper medical attention, and make difficult decisions when emergencies arose. There were moments when quick decisions meant the difference between life and death.
To this day, my husband often says that those moments of care and advocacy saved his life.
About 2 years later, I faced another emotional experience involving my elderly mother. When she encountered a serious medical condition, immediate decisions had to be made to ensure she received life-saving care. I spent weeks by her side in the hospital, supporting her through recovery and later ensuring she had the quality home care she needed after being discharged.
These experiences opened my eyes to the incredible role that caregivers play in the healing and recovery process.
I witnessed firsthand how important it is for individuals recovering from illness or injury to have:
• Compassionate support
• Patient companionship
• Encouragement during recovery
• Someone who genuinely cares about their well-being
I also realized something equally important — caregivers themselves often need support too.
Those moments planted the seed for what would eventually become 1 Source Non-Medical Senior Care.
